I am a graphic design student at Lane Community College in Eugene OR. I became interested
in graphic design in high school after watching a presentation by Chip Kidd about the
excitement and fulfillment that comes from creating a design that tells a story. In his
case design literally is that, creating covers that are a visual representation of a novel.
Condensed and refined yet unchanged. This concept however can and should be applied to any
type of design. Whether it be a brand or a product there is so much to be conveyed. To do it
correctly means giving life and emotion to an otherwise dull piece of paper or screen.
My goal in my design work is to constantly push myself out of my comfort zone.
Every project I take on I learn something that I take on to the next. I like to
incorporate some fine art influence onto my design as traditional art plays a huge
part in my life and helps to keep me inspired. When I am not doing design work I am
outside taking photos, painting or snooping around a record store.
